So.. this is the first "real" photography for my rune project
 --- This is my interpretation of the Hagal rune, what immediately struck me when I first planned the idea. The Hagal rune, also called Hagalaz, represents the H sound of the elder futhark. The Norwegian and Icelandic rune poems about Hagal goes like this: Hail is the coldest of grain and shower of sleet and sickness of serpents. --- Hagal - hail, snow, sleet - does indeed resemble grain, and all of these could be fatal to our forefathers. The snow has without doubt formed the lands of Scandinavia, and it forced our ancestors into certain lifestyles. It is a feat of nature that one has to live with, side by side, and one will be wise to respect the many sides of Hagal - beautiful, mercyless, lifesaving and -taking. Puh... A long explanation, which barely explains all my thoughts. Bear with me. --- This photo was taken near my great-grandparents old house (it's not even that old, I think it's from the former century), and it has such a beautiful texture. Hope that you all like it. It does best in a smaller format... |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
